Greyhounds Looking For Homes
Baloo, DOB:3/9/2021

Beautiful Baloo may be missing a leg, but he doesn't let this slow him down; being a young lad (15 months old), he adjusted very well after his amputation. He loves a romp around the garden, but his favourite thing is sunbathing. He has excellent manners around other dogs and will fit in just about anywhere. Baloo will be available for adoption in a few weeks after graduating from the Rehabilitation to Re-Home program, fully funded by Greyhound Racing New Zealand. We are looking for a forever or foster home for him. Full veterinary notes and support will be given to his new family. If you would like to express an interest in adoption, Baloo, send us an email (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz
Zac, DOB:15/1/2019

HELP, my ears have gone! "Don't panic, Zac; I am sure we can find them before a family takes you home." Zac is looking for a new family as he has completed his time in the Rehabilitation to Re-Home program, which is fully funded by Greyhound Racing New Zealand. While in the program, Zac has received first-class vet and rehab care. His rehab history will be provided to his new family. Zac would be suited to just about any family situation as he is a good boy with excellent manners; his new family must be committed to furthering his education into pet life as this will all be a new adventure for him. He would be happy to relax at home while you worked to make him $$$$$. We can see him being very happy with either an outside, cosy kennel and run for him during the day, a crate in your sitting room or a dog door situation. If you work long hours, please remember that during the settling-in period, you will need to have a plan to toilet your dog during the day, never fear we can help you come up with the best one for your situation. We are looking for a permanent or foster home for Zac. If you would like to express an interest in adoption, Zac send us an email (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.

GiGi, DOB: 23/9/2018

Squeal!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking for a cute petite girl to join your family? Here we have GiGi ready and waiting just for you. She can be uncertain of new situations and will need a loving, patient family to continue her pet education. She has been with us for quite some time, so we will be looking for that perfect family. She won't mind if you have to go out to work and will happily chill in her crate for you to return. Please remember during the initial stages of any new adoption, you will have to arrange for someone to toilet your dog if you are going to be at work any longer than six hours. Don't panic; we can discuss many ideas to help you navigate your first few weeks. We are looking for a permanent or foster home for her. If you would like to express an interest in adoption, GiGi, email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Kayla, DOB:23/11/2019

Who do we have here? Why its Kayla. Kayla is waiting patiently (ok, not really, she is a princess, after all) for her family to choose her. She is a tiny little bundle of joy who would love to climb in your lap. Kayla is looking for a family who can further her education about pet life and introduce her to all it contains. She is a good girl in her crate and would be an excellent fit for someone who works (a maximum of 6/7 hours, if you work more than this, we can help you devise a plan). She MUST be kept on lead while out exercising as she, like all the other dogs here, have been injured at some point and been through the fabulous Rehabilitation to Re-home Program fully funded by Greyhound Racing New Zealand. Full details and vet reports are provided to adopted families. Don't let this put you off, as Kayla has had access to first-class veterinary and rehab care. If you would like to express an interest in adopting or fostering Kayla, email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Fanta, DOB:19/2/2019
_heic.png)
You definitely won't want to miss out on this lady! Here we have Fanta; you may have heard about her from Jim; she is his girlfriend. If you are looking for two greyhounds, Jim and Fanta are a great match. We can't say enough good things about Fanta; she deserves a family of her very own. Such a good girl and never puts a foot wrong. She injured her back foot while racing despite having the best veterinary and rehabilitation care. Unfortunately, it didn't heal as expected. Fanta sometimes gives a little hop and skip, which is her new normal; rest assured, Fanta is in no pain or discomfort. Full veterinary notes and support will be available to her new family. Do not let this put you off; meeting her Fanta is one in a million. If you would like to express an interest in adopting or fostering Fanta email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Spyro, DOB:22/12/2021

Spyro will be looking for his forever home in a few weeks. Playing too rough with his brothers resulted in a minor injury that did not require surgery, just rest and rehabilitation. His perfect family will be committed to his further training and education. He will be suited to a home with people around most of the day, but given time, he will adjust to more extended periods by himself. Spyro would happily live with another dog, and an older, calmer one would be best, or we can see mayhem happening! He certainly is a character; his best trick is stealing the dog next door's blankets! Full veterinary notes and support will be given to his new family. If you would like to express an interest in adopting or fostering Spyro email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Ripper DOB: 23/4/2019

Little Miss Ripper, this is the one for you if you are after a higher energy, very trainable greyhound. She is an active girl, which, as she is healing from an injury, makes for an interesting time!! We get around this by using lots of mental games to keep her mind working. She is currently undertaking assessment for scent work and obedience trials by our trainer here (we think she should keep her!!!) She won't mind if you have to go out to work but do remember in the setting-in period, you must arrange for someone to check on your dog during your working day. We can help you devise a plan to help with this, so never fear. Veterinary notes and full support will be provided to Ripper's new family. If you are interested in adopting Ripper, email us at track2homenz@gmail.com or send us a message on Facebook.
Cash, DOB:13/3/2019
_heic.png)
Cash is such a dude we are very tempted just to keep him. He is a straightforward boy to have around. Cash will be okay with you if you have to go out to work but do remember in the first few weeks of settling into a new home, he will need to be checked on during the day. Don't panic; we can help you out with ideas around this. He suffered an injury while racing and was placed in Greyhound Racing's scheme Rehabilitation to Re-Home this means he has had access to first-class veterinary & rehab services. He has graduated from the program and is looking for his new family. If you are interested in meeting him, please send us a message; full veterinary notes and support will be available to his new family. We are looking for a permanent family home or a foster placement if you are still getting ready to have a full-time family member. If you would like to express an interest in adoption, Cash, email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home
Jim, DOB:11/5/2018

Introducing Jim. If you are looking for the perfect gentleman, don't go past this lad. Now, gosh, what can we say about Jim? He is just the best boy. He is everyone's favourite dog, has excellent manners, is lovely on the lead and gets on well with all the other dogs. His best friend in the kennels is Fanta, so if you are looking for two dogs, this pair would love to be homed together. He is well on his way to recovering from his injury, which saw him enter the Rehabilitation to Re-Homing program (fully funded by Greyhound Racing NZ). Complete veterinary reports are available to his new family. We ask that our Rehab dogs be kept on lead when out and about to prevent complications post-surgery. Full support and guidance are available around this, so please do not let it put you off welcoming one of our residents into your home. If you would like to express an interest in adoption, Jim, email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Richie,DOB 7/6/2019

Hi! Says Richie,: Richie would like to know if someone out there is looking for a tall, dark, slightly tubby fellow to make 2023 the best possible year. Here is what he has to say about himself "Woof Woof, how can you resist my lovely dark eyes? I am looking for a family of my own to give me lots of treats, a fluffy warm bed and a few walks a week. I don't like to be in a crate, but a dog door with access to a well-fenced small backyard sounds ideal. I also would not mind being in a kennel and run for a few hours. I am not a fan of being alone, so if you work long hours, I am not the boy for you. I am working on my life skills, so I will need someone committed to my future education. I need to be kept on lead while out exercising as I was a silly sausage and broke my front leg in my kennel. I have been looked after by the fantastic Rehabilitation to Re-homing program fully funded by Greyhound Racing NZ, which means I have had access to first-class vets and rehab facilities; all my vet notes will be provided if you are the lucky family who chose me. Contact the humans running this page if you want more information or to meet me. If you would like to express an interest in adopting or fostering Richie email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Leo, DOB:22/11/2021

Here is another young boy looking for his family; Leo is only 15 months old and will need a family committed to his further training into pet life. Leo is the class clown, always trying to make you laugh. He is very affectionate and over-the-top; this is why we feel older children rather than tiny toots would be better suited to him. Having an older doggy brother or sister would be good to show him the ropes. He can get a little loud if he thinks he is not getting enough attention, so a home with shorter working hours or the means to use a dog walker or doggy daycare would be of benefit. Leo was playing with his brothers and sisters when he had an accident and broke his hock. He entered the Rehabilitation to Re-Home program (fully funded by Greyhound Racing New Zealand ) and has received only the best veterinary and rehab care. Leo is healing well and showing no signs that his injury will slow him down. He will, however, need to be kept on lead while walking for approximately 12 months. Full veterinary notes and support will be provided to his new family. If you would like to express an interest in adopting or fostering Leo email us (track2homenz@gmail.com) or contact us on Facebook Track 2 Home Nz.
Versace DOB:23/9/18

Beautiful, gentle and loving, that's our girl Versace. She is a little unsure of herself in new situations, so she will need a family that can increase her confidence out and about. She will need time to settle in and find her place in your world. Versace could not care less about the cat or chickens, so she could suit a small lifestyle block. She finds the bustle of town overwhelming, but the country life suits her well. If you are interested in adopting Versace, email us at track2homenz@gmail.com or send us a message on Facebook
